GEORGE EVANGELOULIS is a master’s candidate at Louisiana State University, having recently completed a bachelor’s in communications from the University of Southern California. He has interned with WDSU News in New Orleans, LA, and as a foreign policy intern for the American Hellenic Institute in Washington, DC. Born in Athens, Greece, he was raised in Louisiana. .
BRETT FOREST is a multimedia journalist with an emphasis on documentary filmmaking. He is a master’s candidate at Columbia Journalism School and is a member of the documentary cohort. Brett has written for several Columbia publications, was an on-air producer and earned a national Telly Award for his work for the nationally syndicated entertainment news show Daily Blast LIVE, was a producer for FOX31 Denver, and contributed to the station’s 2017 Emmy for Community Service. Born and raised in Colorado, he graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with degrees in film and anthropology.
GEORGE GEMELAS is a master’s candidate at the Yale Center for Environmental Communication and seeks a career at the intersection of the climate issue and news reporting. He holds a bachelor’s in ethics, politics and economics from Yale, has been published in the Yale Daily News, Indianapolis Business Journal and GreenBiz, and also speaks Greek, Turkish, Spanish, and Portuguese.
ALEXANDER JUSDANIUS is a master’s candidate in journalism at New York University, with a concentration in long-form writing and podcast production. He covers religion, the environment, and the justice system, and has been published in outlets including Dissent, The Outline, and Sojourners. Hailing from Columbus, OH, he holds a bachelor’s from Brown University in ethnomusicology and was a Fulbright Scholar in Morocco.
SARAH KATSIYIANNIS is a senior at San Diego State University studying journalism and plans to pursue a master’s degree in communication and a career in broadcast journalism. She currently writes and voices stories KPBS-FM, an NPR sister-station in San Diego, CA. A resident of Carlsbad, CA, Sarah grew up overseas and was baptized in the Kykkos Monastery in Cyprus.
EVA KIRIE is a senior at Ithaca College, pursuing a degree in television-radio with a concentration in broadcast performance and a minor in business administration. She is the winning producer of the 2018 Coca-Cola Regal Films competition with her short The Library, which aired nationally in all 7,300 Regal Cinemas. The Glenview, IL native has also held internships at CBS Corporate in New York City and the Cannes Film Festival in France.
