ALEXA SAMANTHAN. SEDLACK
will enter her senior year at Hofstra University, pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in music production. The Monticello, NY native has interned at WABC-TV in New York, working with Live!, Eyewitness News and the public affairs program Upclose, and wi th the Media Center during the 2012 Presidential Debates held at Hofstra. She serves on the executive board of WRHU Radio Hofstra, on which she hopes to have a Greek radio program soon; contributes to Hofstra’s The Chronicle, managed a youth leadership radio program on WJFF Radio in Jeffersonville, NY and and was also responsible for organizing an event with musicians and artisans to benefit the Interfaith Nutrition Network’s efforts to rebuild homeless shelters and soup kitchens following Hurricane Sandy. Samantha is the daughter of William Sedlack Jr. and Sharon Barbieri of Monticello, NY and the granddaughter of William Sedlack Sr., also of Monticello, NY, Ann Davran of Glens Falls, NY, Barbara Savoy of Delray Beach, FL and the late Morty Savoy.

MARIELENA BALOURIS
will enter her senior year at Penn State majoring in broadcast journalism and political science. The native of Pittsburgh, PA was one of only 18 students recently accepted into the Fall 2014 Emmy Award winning program “The Centre County Report,” a live 30-minute weekly news broadcast. She has interned at ABC7/News Channel 8 inWashington, DC and News Radio 1020 KDKA in Pittsburgh. She has served as executive producer, reporter and anchor of Penn State Network TV News and a host of Penn State’s ComRadio Morning News Show. Shewas electedDirector of Communications for the Penn State Lion Ambassadors, is a member of the University’s Presidential Leadership Academy, serves as the student representative on the College of Communications Alumni Society Board, and sits on the committee that is selecting the new dean of the College of Communications. Marielena is the daughter of Dr. Chris and Kathy (Androutsopoulos) Balouris of Pittsburgh, PA and the granddaughter of the Very Rev. John and Presbytera Ethel Androutsopoulos of New Kensington, PA and Anthony and Eleni Balouris of Pittsburgh, PA.

MADELINEM. BILIS
will begin her junior year at Emerson College pursuing a degree in journalism. The Dudley,MA resident is currently a contributing writer for VentureFizz, where she covers entrepreneurship and technology start-up news in the Boston area; living editor for Your Magazine Emerson; radio reporter for Finding New England, creating audio packages focusing on destinations in the New England area; a contributor to Boston Parents Magazine, and a roving reporter for The Patriot,Webster,MA. The director, anchor and webmaster for WEBN Boston and blog manager for Your Magazine, Madeline has also served as Worcester City Hall Special Events guidebook coordinator and a volunteer at Rosie’s Place. She has accepted an internship at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for the summer.Madeline is the daughter of John and Diane (Socha) Bilis of Dudley, MA and the granddaughter of Joseph and Marguerite Socha of Spencer, MA and the late George and Aphrodite Bilis ofWebster, MA.

JENNIFER ANN CHARONI
will enter her senior year at the University ofWashington to complete her degree in communications and international studies. The Seattle,WA native is a feature writer for The University ofWashington Daily; research/writer on a long-term study onmedia portrayal of student protesters, which compared photojournalism of the Vietnam and Iraq Wars and another on inequalities in the treatment of Avian Influenza in Indonesia; research intern on high school immigrant student education at UWash; an intern with King County Prosecutor’s Office’s Homicide & Violent Crime Unit and was the recipient of a Department of State Undergrad Internship. She was also the recipient of scholarships forHeritage Greece Study Abroad and Greek CulturalWeekend and has served as a Special Olympics swim coach, an elementary reading tutor and a computer instructor for Nicaraguan immigrant students. Jennifer is the daughter of Timothy and Rene Charoni of Seattle, WA and the granddaughter of Nancy Charoni, also of Seattle, and the late Constantine Charoni and James Ross of Seattle and the late Rita Ross.

ALYSSA L. GIANNIRAKIS
recently earned her degrees in communication and political science from John Carroll University, where she was an Arrupe Scholar, a service and social just ice leadership program. The Pittsburgh, PA native has interned with This Week with George Stephanopoulos, is a Meet the Press Fellowship finalist and covered the 2012 London Olympics and the European Union while studying at Regent’s American College in London. She has contributed to the John Carroll University Magazine, The Carroll News student newspaper, and was a Colom & Brit social media intern writing on design trends. She is a member of the Lamda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society, the Order of Omega Fraternity and Sorority LeadershipHonor Society, the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha National Political ScienceHonor Society. She has volunteered her time as an AmeriCorps VISTA summer associate and GOYA president. Alyssa is the daughter of Peter and Lynnlee (Ceccone) Giannirakis of Pittsburgh, PA and the granddaughter of Katie Giannirakis of Weirton, WV and the late Mike Giannirakis and David and Pearl Ceccone of McDonald, PA.

ALEXA MARIE LIACKO
will graduate in the fall of 2015 from the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism with a dual Progressive MA in Communication Management and BA in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Global Communications. The Moorpark, CA native has interned with ABC 7 Eyewitness News, KTLA Morning News and KABC Talk Radio, all in Los Angeles, as well as KHON2 FOX News in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also serves as executive producer and news anchor of USC’s Annenberg TV News. She has part icipated in three Associated Press TV/Radio Academy conferences, People-to-People Leadership conferences, Model United Nations and has worked with her father, a member of the Board of Trustees, and former NH Rep. Chris Spirou to further the Hellenic American University of Athens and Manchester, NH. She was also the 2013 recipient of the Good News Foundation Leslie Miller Journalism Scholarship. This summer, she has been selected as a member of a small broadcast journalism study abroad program traveling to London, Paris, Rome and Prague to work with local news outlets. Alexa is the daughter of Michael and Gail Liacko ofMoorpark, CA and the granddaughter of the late Harry Liacko and Dorothy Liacko formerly of Camarillo, CA and Joan Michaels of Syracuse, NY and the late Richard Michaels.
